A candidate can achieve the highest level of Symantec professional security certification, or an individual certification, as appropriate to support the candidate's job and professional goals.
The program recognizes and builds on candidate skills by accepting the identified 3rd-party Vendor Neutral Certifications as key components of the Symantec Certification Program. The Symantec exams focus on testing candidates' knowledge of Symantec's strategy and solutions. The program acknowledges and accepts industry certifications that have already been achieved which shortens the time for the candidate to get certified while still ensuring the candidates' level of expertise.
For individuals that design, plan, deploy and manage effective security solutions. Focuses on a single segment. Choose one or more of the following tracks: firewall & integrated security appliances, security management, intrusion protection, and virus protection and integrated client security. You must first provide proof that you hold a vendor-neutral third party security certification from the following list: CISSP, GIAC Firewall Analyst, GIAC Incident Handler, GIAC Intrusion Analyst, GIAC Windows Security Manager. You must also pass two Symantec exams from the following choices: firewall & integrated security appliances, security management, intrusion protection, and virus protection and integrated client security.
